About The Product
Flexible Cement Decorative concrete is a polymer modified cementitious mix
designed to decorate almost new or existing substrates to
simulate stone, tile, brick, slate, and other exotic surfaces.
Surface
Requirement
Flexcement
will go over virtually any surface - wood, concrete, drywall, ceramic,
fibreglass, linoleum, acrylic etc. Flexcement
is used Inside or Outside - horizontally or
VERTICALLY, in thickness from 1/8" to 3". Any surface that is clean and
relatively dry with all loose product removed can be used.
Durability
Flexcement is a very durable product. Even so we all know that
concrete can crack and occasionally some hairline cracking may occur
depending on how the substrate was built. We take all precautions
possible to prevent cracking. They do not effect the integrity of
the product.
The
Flexcement product is not effected by severe freeze/ thaw
cycles.
Horizontal Application
The horizontal work is typically applied at 1/8” to 3/8”
depending on the method performed, and the vertical work is
typically applied at 1/4” to 1”. For custom applications you can
apply this product up 3” vertically without sagging.
Colouring
We use color pigments mixed with sealers with high penetration
and other various techniques to achieve an aesthetically realistic
look to our Flex-C-Ment systems. We do use Color Hardeners on most
horizontal work. If sealed and maintained properly the color should
last the life of its underlying substrate.
For coloring we use our water based Flex-Seal which also is used
as a final seal on vertical work. For final seal on horizontal work
we use our satin finish water based Flex-Seal Supreme or our solvent
based Zylene Sealer. For custom applications we do offer a High
Performance Urethane and rubber additive.
Resealing
Inside you need to reseal every 5 to 10 years depending on the
amount of traffic. Outside you need to reseal every 3 to 5 years
depending on the traffic and weather elements.
Weight
Flexcement overlays are approx. 2/3 the weight of concrete, the
wall overlays are approx. 1/2 the weight of concrete, therefore
there is no structural reinforcement necessary.
Non-combustible
Flex-C-Ment is a noncombustible material which allows you to use
in fireplace, kitchen, and electrical areas, etc. with no problem.
Because of the way Flex-C-Ment is manufactured, the material can
dissipate the heat a lot faster, making the surface cooler.
Submersible
All of our Flex-C-Ment materials can withstand wetness, yet for
100% submersion situations such as pools, ponds, showers, etc. we
have a special horizontal and vertical overlay that can withstand
these situations.
